Raquel Meyers Performance “we live in a time of monsters” from 22-22.30
Raquel Meyers (Cartagena, 1977) is a veteran of non-sentimental 8-bit audiovisuals. Raquel Meyers’ visuals have been described by Ed Halter as densely-layered cute-brut style (rhizome.org).
WHAT? Text mode storytelling occurs in between written text and animation. The graphics appear to be images, but are in fact built with common text characters like O or /. With text mode, we refer to a preset font that is organized in a fixed grid on the screen. The music software we use also operates in text mode, forming a curious link to the visual content. We type the graphics and audio from scratch, without pre-made samples or images. This approach is somewhat similar to the recent field of live coding (see toplap.org), where a musician can start with a blank screen and code everything live, from scratch.
Raquel Meyers are working together with Manymade and writer Ida Bertelsen to create The Yeti Sound Machine is an artwork and an electronic sound composing system for kids aged 3-7 developed for the iPad. The artwork is created by Raquel Meyers and the sounds by goto80. The aim is to create a magical universe where kids can explore and learn through art and electronic music.
DJ From 23-02
Asmus was born without an “R”, and has never wanted to let go of another letter since. Instead he likes to play the records he loves for other people. I guess that’s what you call DJ’ing. If he can make you forget where you are, what you are doing, and how many £’s there are left on your oyster card, he’s done his job properly.
He will probably try to make this happen with an exquisite selection of Techno, House and UK bass music.
Asmus has played in more or less all the clubs that cater proper music in Copenhagen, and has also had a few vinyl ventures abroad, namely Berlin and Malmö. He makes mostly techno-oriented club nights at Culture Box and elsewhere with his BULK crew.

Together with Manymade Asmus is preparing an electronic sound-exchange project with musicians in Greenland.
